Samrat Choudhary (born 16 November 1968), is a former vice-president of the Bihar State of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Samrat Choudhary was the Minister of Agriculture in the Government of Bihar in 1999 and Minister of Urban Development and Housing in 2014. Samrat Choudhary joined active politics in 1990 and on 19 May 1999 he took an oath as the Minister of Agriculture in the Government of Bihar. Contested elections from Vidhan Sabha constituency in 2000 and 2010 and was elected MLA. In 2010, he was made the Chief Whip of the opposition party in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. On June 2, 2014, he took an oath and took charge as a minister in the Department of Urban Development and Housing in the Government of Bihar. In 2018, he was made the vice-president of Bihar state in the Bharatiya Janata Party. At present, Shri Samrat Chaudhary is a member of the Legislative Council of the Bharatiya Janata Party and is also the Chief Patron of Ashoka and the Foundation.

Bihar government minister Rakesh Kumar alias Samrat Chaudhary has an unbreakable relationship with Khagadia. His political land is Khagadia. He has been associated with Khagadia since the beginning of his politics. His father Shakuni Chaudhary has been the MP of Khagadia. Samrat himself has been elected twice as MLA from Parbatta Vidhan Sabha of Khagadia district. In 2014, he left RJD and joined JDU. On June 2, 2014, he was made the Minister of Urban Development and Housing Department in the Government of Bihar. Then he also became a minister in Jitan Ram Manjhi’s government. After that he joined BJP. In 2018, Bihar State Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party was made.

Samrat Chaudhary was born on 16 November 1968 in the Lakhanpur village of Munger. Samrat Chaudhary belongs to kori caste and has been OBC’s face of the BJP for a long. His religion is Hinduism and he is indian politician. His mother’s name is Parvati Devi and father’s name is Shakuni Chaudhary. His native village is in Lakhanpur of Tarapur block of Munger district. Samrat’s father Shri Shakuni Choudhary, who belongs to a politician family, has been a seven-time MLA and MP. Shakuni Choudhury is an Indian politician who is a founding member of Samata Party. Samrat Choudhary joined active politics in 1990 and on 19 May 1999 he was sworn in as the Minister of Agriculture in the Government of Bihar. He contested from Parbatta Assembly Constituency in 2000 and 2010 and was elected MLA. In 2010, he was made the chief whip of the opposition party in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. On 2 June 2014, he was sworn in and took charge as the Minister of Urban Development and Housing Department in the Government of Bihar. In 2018, he was made the vice-president of Bihar state in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Before joining BJP, he was associated with Rashtriya Janata Dal as well as Janata Dal United. He gained nationwide attention for engaging in a strong argument with Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha in 2021. The speaker was seeking answers from an MLA on a question asked about the functioning of his department, He later apologized to the Speaker for violating the decorum of the House. Under him, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj took several steps to promote better organizational set-up such as recruitment of more staff in the sanitation department as well as paving the way for the safe manufacture of dead carcasses of stray animals. Under him, the ministry also planned to take intra-department support from other industrial departments.
