Malda belongs to Gujarat state and health word with leading music directors including Kalyanji Anand Ji, laxmikant-Pyarelal, Rajesh Roshan, Nadeem-Shravan, A. R. Rahman, Bappi Lahiri, Jatin Lalit and many more. Finally, he got his first break with one of the famous films of Sanjay Leela Bhansali called Ham Dil De Chuke Sanam. Previously he has played the violin for Jatin-Lalit for their movie called khamoshi: the musical. After that, he has also composed music for Sanjay Leela Devdas and he got whose recognition and fame after that.
After Devdas movie, he did not work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali anymore due to some personal differences. After Devdas, Ismail Darbar has also composed music for various other movies but did not get much recognition. In the year 2005, he has also composed for Subhash Ghai’s movie Kisna: the warrior poet. Out of 12 tracks, he has composed 7 tracks for him. Ismail Darbar got the project of the movie Kisna when A R Rahman has left this project as he went to complete his International assignment. Apart from Saregamapa, he has also been appointed as one of the three-judge for Amul STAR Voice of India 2. Under the direction of S Ramchandranan, in the year 2017, Ismail Darbar has released his first private music project called Rasiya Sajan.
