Shamita Shetty is well known Indian film actress and well settled interior designer. She started her acting career in 2000 with the hit movie Mohabbatein. She played the role of Ishika in this movie and for that she won the award for Star Debut of the year in IIFA. She is also famous for her work in Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, and Zeher. Apart from acting she is very active in reality show. In 2015 she participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8, In 2019 she was the part of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 where she ended up the show as a finalist. When she completed her graduation in fashion designing she did internship with most famous fashion designer Manish Malhotra. After seeing her grace he suggested her try in acting. The Bollywood debut of Shamita Shetty came with the romantic drama movie “Mohabbatein”, where she played role of Ishika Dhanrajgir. The movie was directed by Aditya Chopra. For her role in the movie she won the award for Star Debut of the Year – Female in IIFA. “Raajjiyam” was her first film in the Tamil industry, in which she portrayed Geeta Karthikeyan, wife of the protagonist and the head of a secret agency. In the same year, she achieved massive fame during her appearance for the song titled “Sharara Sharara” in the Hindi language film named “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai”. She started her career in Tollywood industry with the film “Pilisthe Palukutha” in 2003. Here she played the role of Shanti. Shamita was nominated for Star of the Year – Female at Stardust Award for the year 2006 for portraying Sonia Mehra in “Zeher: A Love Story’, a Bollywood mystery thriller from 2005. Additionally, she has worked in movie like “Wajahh: A Reason to Kill in 2004”, “Cash in 2007”, “Fareb in 2004”, and “Bewafaa in 2005”. She started her TV career when worked in Indian reality show named “Bigg Boss Season 3” published on Colors TV. As part of Shilpa Shetty’s wedding, she left the show during the sixth week.
