He began his career on television in the year 1998 with the role of Vishal in the serial “Dil Vil Pyaar Pyaar” on Sony TV. A short time later, he worked as the Mohit in the TV serial “Family Number One” in the year 1999. between 1999 to 2005 he struggle a lot to get work but he couldn’t find more work. In those he only appeared in 18th episode of TV show “Ssshhh… Koi Hai” . In 2005, Vishal Kotian returned to appear on “Dil Hai Phir Bhi Hindustani“ for its 2nd season in2005 after a gap of 6 years. In the same year he also worked in “Ek Chabi Hai Pados Mein” as a role of Rahul Gupta. In the year of 2007 he again appeared in the role of Vishal in TV’s show “Darling I Love You Too”. along with that he also acted in “CID” in some episodes. He worked in “Shri Adimanav” in 2009. His role as Veer Hanuman in Life OK’s religious series Devon Ke Dev Mahadev gained him a great deal of popularity in 2013. after that in between 2014 to 2020 he worked in many religious and comedy shows including “Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal”, “Akbar Ka Bal Birbal” and “Vighnaharta Ganesh”.
He was active in film industry. He made his debut in film industry in 2001 with the film titled “The Deadly Disciple” where he did the role of suriya.
