Venkatesh Alagesh was a popular Indian film and television actor and producer. He was born on 8th October 1968 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He started his education at Jeyaraj Nadar Higher Secondary School, Madurai. He completed his graduation with a bachelor’s degree from Pandian College of Pharmacy, Madurai.
Wife and Family
He got married and had two children, a daughter and a son, Nivetha. Venkatesh’s wife and children also participated with him in television reality shows in the past. He was a close relative (brother-in-law) of the veteran actor and politician Napoleon. He lived in Chennai, Tamil Nadu with his family.
Physical Appearance
Venkatesh was 5feet 8inches tall with a rowdy personality and weight of 84 kilograms. Venkatesh was an active person with a great smile on his face every time, especially on sets. He was considered a responsible father by his co-actoress, Ramaya. Venkatesh was also interested in travelling. He was also called by other popular names like Azhagu, Venkat and Alagesh.
Career
Venkatesh has acted in many popular television series of his time. He made his acting debut in the Tamil television industry with a series named “Chellamadi Nee Enakku” telecasted on Sun TV. In his debut series he was cast opposite Gayathri Priya. The series was directed by S.N Sakthi Vel and produced by Radha Krishnan.
He also played a supporting role in series like “Eeramana Rojave” and “Bharathi Kannamma” with Pavithra and Senthikumari respectively, on Vijay TV. His other Vijay TV series included “Saravanan Meenatchi”. In that series he played the role of Thamizh, Meenatchi’s Dad and Vettaiyan’s maternal uncle. He was also cast in a Tamil family soap opera television series named “Uravugal Sangamam”. It was directed by Vijay S. Kumar and was telecasted on Raj TV. Apart from his popularity on Vijay TV, he was also popular for some of his works in the Tamil film industry. Many Tamil films have been extolled with his performance. One of them was “Mynaa” which was considered one of the best films of 2010.

Venkatesh’s Demise
On 22nd March 2021 around 2.30 pm, Venkatesh passed away due to a sudden cardiac arrest. He felt chest pain early in the morning, and his family took him to the hospital. But he could not be saved and died that afternoon. Vijay Television’s official Instagram page confirmed the news with a post. They posted a photo of Venkatesh and wrote,”RIP (sic),” with a crying smiley. He was only fifty-five years old. He was survived by his wife and two grown-up children, a daughter and a son. His dead body was provided to his family, and the final rites took place on 23rd March 2021, around three in the afternoon.
His sudden death had put his co-actors and others in the television fraternity in a shock. Many of his fans and co-actors conveyed their condolences through social media. They paid tribute to the late actor and his family with heartfelt messages for him and photos of him. He last played the role of Kannamma’s father in the Tamil series, Bharathi Kannamma, which currently airs on Vijay Television. On the same day during the first half, comedy actor Theepetti Ganesan also passed away in Madurai.
